RULES & RECOMMENDATIONS
- Chili is judged on 5 criteria: Aroma, Red Color, Consistency, Taste, & Aftertaste
- Showmanship is judged on 5 areas:
Theme, Costume, Booth Set-up, Action,
& Audience Appeal
- DO NOT bring pre-made chili! Must be made from scratch that day.
- Bring your own handwashing station (see additional sheet for info), cooking thermometer, USDA Approved meat, spices, overhead protection (i.e. tent), cooking stove and fuel, utensils, pans, tables and chairs.
- Due to strict health codes, all meat will be checked for proper USDA approval. All meat must be in original packaging, or you must provide receipt of purchase from certified retailer at check-in.
- Cleaning stations will be provided
- No smoking or pets in cooking areas.
- If competing in showmanship – bring props and costumes!
- Each cook receives a goody bag for entering.
NO CARRY IN ALCOHOL
This will be strongly enforced. If in violation you will be disqualified and asked to leave the premises.
- DONATION CHILI – Help us provide
public tasting chili. We provide 5 lbs. of FREE Ground Beef for you to cook and serve
- HELD RAIN OR SHINE
